Samuel Hayes incoming correspondence and shipping records, 1846-1863.

Letters to Samuel Hayes, mostly addressed to him in Trinidad, but also at New Haven, Connecticut, from his nephews S.B. Gridley and Edward Trowbridge, and from his business associates. These included nephew Henry Trowbridge and Timothy Dwight, merchants of New Haven. Also includes invoices of cargoes shipped on board the Bark Hyperion and the Bark Maraval. They carried bread, corn, oats, pork, beef, mules, donkeys and horses, among other items, to both Barbados and Trinidad.
